Attendees will learn the importance of PLACEMENT and the establishment of the PROSCENIUM to stage their drawing. They will learn how to build a human figure using a unique system of C.S.I. PROPORTION developed by Robert Beverly Hale and incorporated into the Mentler Methode. This method allows one to capture the human form without relying solely on reference. PERSPECTIVE as it relates to drawing the human figure will also be demonstrated. The Mentler Methode forgoes the mimesis of shapes at it stresses seeing in terms of MASSES and PLANES.
C.S.I. CANON OF PROPORTIONS will be demonstrated and explained in detail.
All of the drawing materials will be provided for in-studio use. This includes easels or benches, drawing boards, charcoal, shammy, and paper. Please bring a notebook and a writing instrument to take notes during the demonstrations.
